Rogue River Hwy from Hamilton Ln

Rogue River Hwy from Hamilton Ln

If you have traveled Rogue River hwy out of Grants Pas headed toward the town of Rogue River you have notice there is quite a facelift occurring. What a difference this will make when completed. Sidewalks, bike lanes, center dividers, turn lanes and lots of shrubs, trees and lighting. This old part of town has looked a bit haggard but not much longer. I believe everyone will benefit from this project.

Savage Rapids Dam (Coffer Dam sloughs away)

Monday, May 4th, 2009

savage-rapids-5-4 May 4th. 2009 AM.¬† I was driving by the Savage Rapid Dam This morning and noticed s0mething just didn’t look right.¬† This is what I saw. The Coffer dam built out of rock and sand has a spot where the turbulent water has cause some of it to slough away. It will be interesting to see what happens next. The Spring Chinook are just getting started on their migration up the Rogue River. I would hate to see them have to hold up the run again.
